All three USB ports on my Ts have been working fine since the beginning Febbut now Jun one of them seems to have broken. I have a USB mouse and a USB keyboard, and both work just fine when plugged into the two good ports, and neither works when plugged into the bad port.
Neither the light in the mouse nor in the keyboard turns on when plugged into the bad port.
This tells me it's a hardware problem and not an OS problem. When I got my computer, luckily I ran the "sudo lsusb -v" command in Linux and captured the output in case something like this should happen.
If I compare the output back then to the output now, the only important difference is as follows. Under "Hub Port Status", it used to say when the keyboard was plugged in the port which is now bad :. The difference being in "Port 1" which says just "power" instead of "highspeed power enable connect".
USB port not working
When I plug my keyboard in the remaining good port, "Port 4" updates, and when I unplug my mouse, "Port 3" updates, so this indicates to me that "Port 1" is the bad port and "Port 3" and "Port 4" are the remaining good ones. Tell us about your experience with our site. Paul Created on April 21, Recently my USB port has stopped working. Whenever I connect my phone, iPod or pen drive to my laptop it doesn't recognise them at all - nothing pops up to say I've connected a device nor will my iPod show up on iTunes etc.
I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad if that helps and I've only had it a few months so I doubt the laptop itself is the problem. I connected the devices to a different computer and they worked fine so they aren't the problem either.
I've tried to fix the problem but nothing has worked. I ran the Microsoft Fix It hardware and devices troubleshooter and it said "Hardware changes might not have been detected", but hasn't actually fixed the problem.
I've also tried various updates, removing then installing the drivers, disabling then enabling the drivers and nothing has worked.
Does anyone know how to fix this? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
I have the same question If you were to reboot the computer the devices will work again. They will work also when you unplug and replug the devices. We first started experiencing this issue with the later model Ts. A re-image of the computer would fix it. We now have 25 brand new Ts that we are experiencing this issue. We think its something to do with the Ts's USB 3. We can disable USB selective suspend and the devices will work after log off.
However, on your next boot the issue will re-arrise. We have the most current usb drivers. We have disabled power management on the root usb hub. We have removed Lenovo power manager issue still happens. Issue does NOT happen in safe mode. I have called Lenovo support multiple times and they have not been able to fix this issue. Have a ts and haven't seen this issue you should perhaps try updating the bios or doing a clean install of windows on one and using mostly windows stock drivers.
The first thing I did with my ts when I got it was take it apart and upgrade the drive hence the clean install. Thats the interesting thing. I have managed to make a script that turns off USB Selective suspend on all power policies. When I run the script and then log off the USB devices work correct.
Seems like a half red-herring. Flextechs is an IT service provider. This is sounding more and more like a driver issue. The BIOS shouldn't play into that during log off, as up to date as they should be.I have recieved at work a lenovo t notebook, everything worked fine, untill one day I noticed that I cannot conect to the internet via lan cable.
I plug in the cable and it is not detected. I checked the cable to another notebook and it was working. I have a Intel Ethernet Connection ILM controller, I have re-installed both network drivers from lenovo and intel websites and nothing helps. I've tried as well to get automatically from windows update, no result.
Went to bios cheked if the lan connection is enabled, everything was in place. Is there anything I missed? I noticed a weird behaviour, if I connect through wireless network, after sometime the lan connection is established and I can use it, but without wireless connection it doesn't work. Any suggestions what could have caused this issue?
Please update the BIOS this will resolve the issue, you can check with the updated file where they have mentioned that updating the BIOS will resolve the network issue. Did someone help you today?

I have just purchased a Lenovo Ts several days ago. For reasons out of the three USB 3. The port that has a charging sign on it simply won't recongnize any of the USB devices except my mouse I have tried multiple flash drives and hard drives. They seems to be connected to the laptop becuase the indication lights on them will light up.Mosen thermometer manual
And nothing else happened besides that. The other port on the left side of the laptop next to heat sink can recognize USB devices but it is not stable while tranfering data from my external hard drive to the laptop. The process would stop and resume mutiple times and the hard drive just got disconected for no reason I think it is a power issue since that port works fine with flash drive. However, my hard drive does need an external power!
I have also tried other hard drives I have also tried to debug the BIOS but nothing seemed off. I am running on Windows 8. Have anyone ever had similar issues? Please help Did someone help you today?
